Behavioral Health Working Group
Co-Chairs Rebecca MacKenzie, LICSW & Chelsea Nyamutowa
Objectives:
Professional Development & Resources: To provide programs, training, peer
support, and access to current research and data that strengthen members’ capacity to
respond effectively to climate-related mental health challenges. This includes evidence-
based, nature-based, and culturally grounded strategies and practices, informed by
diverse cultural ways of knowing in urban, suburban, and rural communities.
Community Care & Resilience Building: To serve diverse populations—including
at-risk and underserved individuals and groups—in our communities by listening,
collaborating, and by offering care, education, and resources that build resilience in the
face of the climate crisis.
Collaboration & Collective Impact: To collaborate with organizations and partners
who share our mission of reducing the mental health harms of the climate crisis to
promote systemic change and the well-being of all living beings.
